The Cock Inn - Melton

I was a little disappointed during my visit. We checked the menu online before making a reservation, but the hand-written menu we received didn’t match what was listed on the website. The food we ordered was decent; in fact, the sea bream was quite lovely. However, the steak was a different story—it was a cheap cut and quite tough. The best option available from the revised menu was sirloin, but I personally prefer fillet. Additionally, the wine selection was drastically limited compared to what was advertised, although the Argentinian Malbec was delightful. It seems this restaurant has significantly reduced its offerings since before the pandemic. It’s such a charming pub with great beers, and I hope it can return to its former glory.

This is a lovely little pub. I went to watch the tractors and had a wonderful time. The staff were really friendly, and the pint was excellent too.

Fantastic country pub! As the leader of a walking group, it's quite challenging to find a place that genuinely welcomes walkers. It has been a pleasure working with the landlady, Eleanor, and we all eagerly anticipate our lunch break there in a few weeks. During our recent pre-walk visit, the entire pub was beautifully decorated for Halloween, and even the outdoor seating area across the road was included. Simply marvelous!

What a fantastic traditional village pub! While they don't serve regular meals, on Saturdays they offer the most incredible cobs available at the bar. We will definitely be returning!

This is a fantastic pub located in the serene countryside of Leicestershire. It's definitely worth a visit! The pub features a lovely garden where you can relax in the sun, and it combines traditional pub vibes with a modern twist. The staff are delightful—friendly and welcoming. I plan to visit regularly!
