Kalmuck - Melk

This visit was very disappointing from the time it took to get our food to how it tasted. And there is no non-smoking section, which was unfortunate. We were in this restaurant on a Saturday evening pre-season so it was almost empty. In fact, we...were the only ones at the time ordering food, yet it took quite a while to get it. (We did receive the drinks quickly. To their credit, the green garlic soup was very good. However, the Winzer-Brot was not good and the so-called souffle (they spell it souflet, but some research suggests it refers to the same thing, supposedly was definitely not a souffle. The pieces on the Winzer-Brot sandwich fell apart, more importantly, the oregano completely overwhelmed the taste. Using something like parsley would make much more sense for that kind of a warm sandwich. The souffle was a huge disappointment. It was a small piece of chocolate cake (almost like a small muffin with barely a hint of nut flavor and nothing resembling an actual souffle. The only moist-resembling component was chocolate sauce on the plate. There wasn't any actual moist part to the piece, which is what one expects from a souffle. I hope the restaurant renames this dessert to reflect what it is. Overall, I wish I could have a do-over on my one dinner experience in Melk. I suggest you look for something else.

We were there actually on 2 consecutive evenings. Well that speaks for itself. It's a perfect wine bar for all lovers of wine. Lovely bar snacks and side dishes. Very efficient and warm service and a location that's just a bit off the old town...center. It's beautiful for a relaxed, conversations filled night out with friends. We sat outside as should you although the insides are well done too. But it's the outside where you see the world walk past while you savour your wines!

Sehr schöne Bar, tolle Weine, fantastische Snacks und Speisen und ein klasse Personal. Ein witklich gelungener erster Eindruck. Wir kommen jederzeit wieder hierher.
