Tasquinha Portela - Melgaco

A little off the beaten path but well worth the trip. The local is clean and comfortable with a bar if you have to wait. Yes, reservations are recommended as this is a local favorite. The two of us shared an Hors d'oeuvre and as the main plate, the Naco (grilled steak). It was definitely one of the best pieces of meat I have had here, very tender and delicious. The plate comes with potatoes and a small salad. It was enough for two if you aren't really hungry. The village has a very cool old church, Church of São Salvador de Paderne and was resisted as a national monument in 1912. The structure is from the Romanesque period and has undergone restorations over the years. Its a very nice post meal stole.
