Unica Cucina e Caffe - Melbourne

Well just dropped in off the cuff snack. How great was the experience to dine in this venue, Michelle owner looked after us very well and made us more than welcome. The platter excellent,calamari great, home made ice cream delicious, topped off with a nice coffee

The food here never disappoints. Great friendly atmosphere to boot. Seafood is a speciality but the ravioli porcini in a pesto sauce and the scallopine are lovely dishes.

A delightful understated casual Italian cafe/restaurant. Genuine house-made food, fresh and tasty. My ravioli porchini was delicious, I could have certainly eaten more and the Parmiagana Melanzana, made the right way with eggplant not meat was tasty as well.As for the desert - see the pic, one of a number of homemade cakes. Yum. This isn't haute cuisine, but good honest yummy food.

We came here for our anniversary day. Friendly staff. We were told that they had king prawn and it was really to die for. Then my husband ordered ravioli, was really good. As for me, I ordered spaghetti marinara and came out with lots of seafood... love them. Last i ordered dessert and my hubby ordered ri stretto No complaints at all and its totally worth coming here. Hard to find nice and genuine restaurant here!! Thanks guys..

Well this place is one of my all time favourites . I have been several times before and thought it was great. BUT today I went with some very good friends and it was awful. What happened ? Where is the lovely Italian chef ? . Haven't you tasted your food ? We had lasagne with coffee . There was so much salt in the lasagne it was inedible . I pointed this out to the waitress . She said she would pass it on to the chef . I would have thought he would get back to us . Neither of us finished our meal ( and we were starving !) . We heard nothing . When we went up to pay - noone mentioned anything, no apology , no offer of a free coffee or anything . So I asked if the message was passed on and reassured by the waitress that it had been . Still no acknowledgement . I think this was really poor response guys . MMMMMM will have to think about whether I will risk spending my money on food i cannot eat at your restaurant again. It feels like I just made a donation to you - paying but not getting an edible product. Particularly when if the food and response were so bad. Sorry but it is just not good enough. While i am at it . having bowls of dead shellfish sitting in water on the bench does not really convince anyone that the fish is fresh .
