Laid back, friendly service, nice coffee and cakes. Have had meals here and just coffee and each time happy with what we have received. There 8 years so must be okay.
Ordered a BLT bagel and a kids pancake for my son - simple enough dishes. Pancake was half cooked sludge, and the blt - burnt dry bagel (had to repeatedly ask for some butter - which when it came was rock hard), poorly cooked bacon, the tiniest sliver of tomato, and heaps of nasty bitter lettuce. We ate very little of it, which the overbearing host saw but happily ignored.
This delightful cafe is situated at the top end of the shopping strip not far from the Library and Town Hall. It is run by Paul, a friendly host who will accommodate any wish you may have around the delightful daily specials. It's a small cafe, and some days one needs to book as it does tend to be busy during the peak lunch break. It's clean and comfortable and Paul is only to happy to assist with large groups - catering to the needs of all.Its a nice cafe to return to, time and time again.
Ordered poached eggs on toast with spinach. Not much effort is put into the presentation of the breakfast. Very bland and boring. As I was eating the breakfast I noticed a worm in my plate from the spinach. I called the manager and asked him to take the breakfast away because I could not eat it any more. He insisted that they do wash the spinach. As I was going to pay for my coffee they also charged me for my breakfast! I informed them that I did not eat it due to the worm to which he replied that he has taken a couple of dollars off the breakfast as a discount! Very poor service.
