1000 Lire Pizza&Stuzzichini - Melbourne

One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten and I've been a pizza chef for 15 years well seasoned light products used excellent good good good you are a pride for Italy thank you

We enjoyed an evening meal here, had several pizzas to share. Staff were fantastically friendly, but pizzas were in need of improvement, my mazzara pizza came with the tiniest prawns imaginable, so it certainly was stuzzichini, (teaser). Arancini starters were okay, if a little dry and on the small side. Desert was fantastic. Very hospitable management and staff, we were generously treated to a round of limoncello after the meal.

Well the old red olive site has had a make over and all for the best i think.. It certainly is whiter lighter and brighter.. Came for dinner as i wasn't up for cooking and it was mid week and we didn't want to travel far... Great choice the pizza is definitely better - well much more how i like my pizza thin tasty with puffy edges. Had chips with truffle aioli - to be honest a normal aioli would have been better.. the truffle oil is too overpowering but the best we had was on the specials - sardines with lemon... So fresh and juicy and light perfect!!! This pizzeria in the old days used be packed - i guess people don't like change - as it was quiet the night we went... but you know what i don't mind because i will certainly be back and this way i don't have to wait for a table!!!

Absolutely delicious food!!! We enjoyed succulent, yet super crispy baby calamari with a scrumptious, almost tonnato mayo. Then the best croquettes I have ever had...just sooooo moorish! A superb salad accompanied our two divine pizze - the potato and pancetta pizza and the capricciosa. WOW!!! Wood fired and thin crust, with fresh and fine quality ingredients all the way. Delightfully friendly, professional and non-intrusive service. Excellent value, not only for food, but also for drinks. This new venue is a MUST!!! Do yourself a favour and visit 1000 LIRE very soon. GRAZIE!!

What a great time we had tonight at Chez Lucien! A group of six with no reservation, they found us a nice booth on the lower level.
