Synonymous Cafe - MEDLOW BATH

Medlow Bath? Blink and you miss it! Seriously, there is only one reason to stop at Medlow Bath, right? And that's if you are visiting/staying at the Hydro Majestic. I mean, there ain't NUTHIN else there! Except .... I'm a local. I live down the road at Katoomba. I luuurv Anonymous, the TINY "it" cafe in Blackheath. A year ago the owners expanded their coffee empire to open Synonymous, at Medlow Bath, on the udder side of the railway tracks. This last weekend the wife and I finally checked it out.It ain't tiny. That's the first impression. It's cosy but without feeling crowded. it's bigger than its parent cafe, that's for sure, but retains character, being an old store/post office. the menu is exactly the same i.e. brilliant food, the staff all smiles.Easy to find, easy parking, plenty of room. And the coffee..... say no more.

Awesome coffee. As good as i have had anywhere. And a great atmosphere. Please open a place in Neutral Bay. We need a place like this there

My wife and I stopped here earlier in the month for a light lunch. The food is excellent, and they have a reasonable selection of teas as well as coffee. Service was friendly and quick for a place that was about half full.The menu is a little limited if you aren't after a variation of an all-day breakfast, but there's also blackboard specials to supplement this. Overall, not a bad cafe.

Really busy place understandably as they serve great breakfasts and good coffee. Be prepared for a bit of a wait for a table at peak times - weekends etc. interesting menu items for all day breakfast and lunch options. Full breakfast very tasty poached eggs sourdough bacon mushrooms etc. wide selection of Australian teas and good coffee. Interesting old building with lots of character and some alternative art on the walls. Friendly service too. Would definitely come here again.

Lovely place for breakfast. Good variety of food on the menu and nice coffee. Showcased fresh, local ingredients which was a treat. Gluten and dairy free options too.
