Moist and fluffy with a divine taste.... If I had ordered more. This cake is supposed to die. Don't go there, so there's more for me.
El Portal is one of the places everyone knows and people have been enjoying for years, especially in the afternoon for tea or coffee. You have several locations, we often have those in the Oviedo Mall in...Poblado. The display bag is always full of wonderful looking cakes and cakes, but they also offer traditional empanadas, or pastel (like Pastel de Pollo) that make for a great afternoon snack. They increasingly adopt an international flair and offer, in addition to traditional offers, Tiramisu, Carrot cake and Red Velvet cakes. The service is attentive, but can be a little slow. Expect to wait about 15 minutes for your order.
Came here for breakfast with friends. All about bad experience, over cooked eggs, soggy bread and plates drowned in the sauce. After our breakfast we ordered pastries that contain the most cooked croissant I've ever eaten. Her almond and white chocolate croissant is even advertised on her branding. The only redeeming factors here were coffee.
If visiting the Dallas-Ft. Worth area I always try to visit this restaurant. The bandeja paisa is excellent and it is a big dish so you can share it if you get side orders. This dish comes with 3 types of meat including the delicious...fried chicharron (pork meat with some skin, fat and meat). Rice, areas, beans, avocados, fried egg and fried sweet plantains are all part of this dish. We shared a dish called bandeja paisa and we got side orders of fried cassava (yuca), plantains and beans. Everything was delicious and fresh. There are many other options for entrees. This restaurant is also a bakery so you can also enjoy some nice regional Colombian breads and good pastries like the mil hojas (thousand sheets) pastry. Fast and always courteous service. Reasonable prices for the amount and quality of food. I will continue to visit when in town.
This is one of my favourite places to visit for a quiet coffee with a family member. A quiet intimate setting where you can share a beautiful cup of Colombian coffee and satisfy that sweet tooth. I miss those coffees and the chocolate cake when...I return home to North America.
