Zheng Chinese - Mechanicsville

I haven't had a chance to try the food yet, but the service has been incredibly rude and unpleasant. It's disappointing to find out that they charge for water, and all drinks come in bottles or cans. On a positive note, the food looks good, and there's an adorable 3-year-old playing in the restaurant.

The vegetables were woefully undercooked, and the meats were fatty and tough. The lo mein noodles were overcooked and mushy. We decided to try a new restaurant, and it was a mistake. A family member even commented at the table, "Wow, our usual Chinese spot is so much better than this."

When my order arrived, the egg roll was replaced with the soup. I called immediately to rectify the situation and was told a manager would call me back shortly. After waiting for 30 minutes without a callback, I reached out again. The woman who made the error told me it was my fault because the soup didn’t allow for special instructions, implying that my request must have been about the egg roll instead. During our first conversation, she had asked me about my soup choice and never indicated that she thought I was talking about the egg roll. It was incredibly rude for her to insist that it was my mistake when she clearly misunderstood. I would give this place zero stars if I could, but that option isn't available.

Wow, Very disappointed about this place today. Never have we had such a bad trip to Zhengs. In fact, we look forward to the days when we can order from work. I had a large order and read it off to her clearly. She read it back and it was correct. When we open the bag nothing is marked. Nothing has even any initials on the containers. A few items were missing as well. There was seafood in some of the orders and we have seafood allergies and this could have been bad. Shrimp should have been marked. The order was wrong, to begin with, and was supposed to be Hunan Chicken and it ended up being Hunan chicken and shrimp. Such large orders should be marked and anything seafood should be specifically marked. They almost had a close call with this and I am very disappointed.

Every other restaurant is open to full capacity but this place is still takeout only? Ludicrous. Will not be back
