It wasn't crowded, so they took our order quickly. We also received our ice cream quickly. The girl was very sweet competent. The size of the cones was larger than expected, at a reasonable price. Finally, the ice cream, waffle cones were delicious.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant that everyone I know always talks about, and I finally decided to give it a try. I ordered one scoop of chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone, and they really filled it up! It cost around $7, but it was definitely worth it. The employees were friendly and quick.
Rakestraw's serves incredibly tasty, house-made ice cream that comes with a high price tag, but it's worth it for the quality. I ordered the Muddy Sneakers flavor (white chocolate ice cream with a caramel swirl and chocolate covered peanuts) in an M&M dipped waffle cone for around $8 for a small size. Although pricey, the ice cream was delicious. I look forward to trying the Salted Caramel, Coconut Crunch, or Blueberry Cheesecake flavors on my next visit.
The hot weather on July 4th made it a perfect day for enjoying some hand-dipped ice cream at Rakestraw's. We ordered a 1-2 dip bowl with Extreme Chocolate, Cappuccino with chocolate pieces, and caramel crunch, as well as a 3-dip bowl with chocolate peanut butter and peanut butter overload. The ice cream was delicious! The young lady working at the counter was friendly, quick, and kept the line moving smoothly. The store had a variety of ice cream flavors in a few freezers, along with dipped waffle cones. Unfortunately, there was no seating available, so be prepared to stand while enjoying your treat. This lack of seating probably prevents the shop from becoming a hangout spot. The decor was simple and plain.
