Sonic Drive-in - Mebane

This place no longer exists! It was one of our go-to-place to get milkshakes until they ripped it 2-3 years ago to expand Hwy 119. Now we have to go all the way to the other side of Burlington if we want to get our Sonic! Sucks, because we're here at least 3 times a week. Or more!

I would love to visit this Sonic. The dark-haired manager is always very friendly. Even though I don't know them personally, they always treat me with kindness, which makes me feel appreciated. I'm thankful for the half-price days and the delicious food and service.

We decided to brave the storm today to pick up something essential from the store. On our way back, we found that the only restaurant was open, so we stopped in for a bite. After placing our order with the lady at the counter, we were stuck waiting at the window for quite a while while she processed the payment. At that point, we asked if she was the only staff member working, and she confirmed that she was. It was impressive to see her managing the entire place by herself, and she even greeted us with a smile. I’m not sure why they didn’t send anyone else in to help her, but I really appreciate her for making our food and maintaining such a positive attitude.

I've tried to update this restaurant's status several times, but every time my edits get rejected. This place was closed down at the beginning of 2018 due to road expansion, and the old parking lot is now part of a new roadway. The local roads have been upgraded to manage increased intergovernmental traffic and improve flow; when Mebane was originally developed, it was a small town that’s now much larger and more popular. In short, the restaurant no longer exists, so don’t bother driving here. All you’ll find is dirt and gravel—not a tasty foot-long hot dog in sight. If by some miracle you do come across a Sonic restaurant, let me know—I’d love to know what you’re smoking! If, for some bizarre reason, you can’t find anything to eat from the countless options in Alamance County, there is still one Sonic located at 3431 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215.
