Royal Oak Inn - Meavy

I've dined at the Royal Oak many times over the years, and it has always been our favorite spot for a good Sunday roast. However, I doubt we'll return after our recent visit. Last week, we were shocked by the tiny portion we were served for £18! It seemed like they had run out of vegetables, and I was hoping for a side bowl to come with some extras, but that never happened. Although the presentation of the meager serving was nice, the overall experience was disappointing. Additionally, the service was incredibly slow; we had to ask for the bill three times. It's frustrating to say, but the Royal Oak has let us down, especially considering that there are numerous other local pubs that offer better food and larger portions. What you see in the picture is truly what you get. Food: 2, Service: 3, Atmosphere: 4.

The food was absolutely delicious, faultless . The pub was very busy, and therefore quite noisy with customers. Unfortunately there was a group who had no concept of personal space, and gathered around our table, quite close to our little ones . They were almost on our table and very loud! This is obviously in no way any fault of the Royal Oak... I just needed to vent.
