For a wide selection of delicious food, head to Kings Family Restaurant. My husband tried the Stiller burger and couldn't even finish it because of how large it was. They offer healthy options on the menu for those watching their waistlines. They also serve breakfast all day, with recommendations like the Southern Style Breakfast or the Ultimate Meatlovers. The restaurant has spacious seating and a private dining area, as well as handicap accessibility.
This family restaurant may not have a fancy atmosphere, but the food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Sub and was impressed by the flavorful fries that came with it. My husband had the chicken salad, and my two older daughters enjoyed the fish sandwich and turkey club. Our youngest loved the corn dogs from the children's menu. The service was attentive, and the tables were spaced out for social distancing. My only disappointment was that I was too full for dessert.
I had dinner with a friend of mine tonight. Our server was Zach. He did an excellent job to be friendly, personal and make sure that our culinary needs were met. The food quality was better than in the past and the portion size was good. I'm definitely back.
I grew up in Meadville and Kings was a staple on the hill, just as Perkins was, down the hill. Kings (and Perkins) are perfect representations of old Meadville. Run down, sad, understaffed, empty display shells of their former selves. Absolutely nothing against the wait staff, they were hustling as fast as they could, and I tipped accordingly. We actually went twice last week, orders were wrong both times (completely wrong sandwich, not something small). We didn 't even mention it, as it looked like 4 people were running the entire restaurant. But again, the service is not the reason for the review. The place feels like the last 30 minutes of a garage sale. Each time I return home to Meadville, Kings gets worse. The interior is not old in a charming way, it 's tired and needs gutted.
