S.C.Pannell Wines - MCLAREN VALE

The location and views are breathtaking. We arrived at lunchtime on Sunday and asked if we could just have a cheese plate on the deck to look at the views (why would you like to sit somewhere else) The waitress said we could, but she also shook that they should not be served on the deck, although the two other couples sitting on the deck were both served. We found our perfect seat on the deck to make the best of the magnificent view, but the waitress came and moved us to say that she would not serve at the end of the deck because it was too far for her to go with food, but it was just a few meters from where she moved us. Lo and behold, halfway through our cheese plate sits another pair on the table we had originally chosen, and the same waitress serves them both food and drink at this table, although they don't let us sit there and no excuses from her whatever. I understand that people can have a bad day and I think they might have been upset with other employees/managers that rules for non-food on the deck have been mixed. But you don't take this to careless customers who just came to enjoy their Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed the wine the cheese and the other views.

Under the shade of an umbrella on the deck with uninterrupted views over the vineyards on a 40 degree December lunch we were extremely well fed, watered and comfortably kept. SC Pannell grows its own products organically and combines them with such an artistic flair. We have 5 shared plates between four of us, and was exactly right, but would have kept on order, the food was sensational. Ashlyn was the most knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating waitress with an evil sense of humor. Hope to taste the long lunch with paired wines in the future! Will be sure to reserve a table at the edge of the deck to soak in the view.

Fantastic food, beautiful wines and exceptional service for Ashlyn. The Sachiatella was very delicious, the dumplings were slightly fresh and tasteful, but the zucchini bags were the surprise actors. Oh, and the views for the steep road, apologise for our delightful appearance.

My wife and I had the wine tasting luncheon here and everything was delicious. We were recommended by friends and it certainly lived up to what they said.
