We just had our wedding ceremony here, Melanie and Andrea were amazing! They both put so much thought into our special day and were attentive, friendly and helpful. Our ceremony was classy and intimate, both things my husband I wished for. There was lots of cute photo op places and the bridal cottage was perfect. Our wedding day was easy going rather than stressful. This venue is beautiful and all together perfect.
Quaint and historic as it may be the experience from a guests point of view may vary. On the day we were there it was too hot for the houses inadequate floor ac system. Where we were sitting in the main house it was probably 80+ degrees. We were all sweating profusely. It was cooler if you sat next to the in floor ac vents. All they need to do is install mini splits in each room and the problem will be solved. The food was adequate, I’ve had worse but it really was quite bland nothing to write home about. The main house is divided into rooms and if you have more than a few people at your wedding you will find it hard to position the speech’s in such a way the whole crowd can see who is speaking. I don’t know how much the facility costs so this is probably a case of you get what you pay for. This is my honest feedback and I mean no harm by it.
The staff is great and very accommodating. They took on some of our tasks with the vendors so we could enjoy our party and get ready.
Hubby and I got married here in January 2004 and I guess it was a good luck spot because we have been happy ever since, more in love than ever. We were just very broke 20-somethings, and when I found this place that ALSO catered at such an accessible rate for our modest budget and a guest list of 84, I knew it was meant to be. And as a native Texan, I also felt like this historic home was something I could be proud to showcase our day to my new family's out of town first-time Texas visitors. To this day, my hubby's family (who all flew down from New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, etc) still talk about how this was one of the best weddings ever, even though so humble and modest by most of their standards. And believe me, I have seen the lavish parties they pull off for wedding days. Yet somehow, this spot made a lasting impression. This little house just brims with love and fun. The catering was SO YUMMY, I still remember the stuffed mushrooms and my hubby's chessboard PB cup cake they made special for him. We just had our 19th anniversary so I was checking in to see if you were still in business as you so deserve to be. Glad I found you still in the business of catering to and sheltering real love.Thank you for everything.Love,The Abbamondi's
