The bierocks were decent, but the enchiladas tasted more like tortillas filled with bierock filling than actual Mexican food. Honestly, I’ve had better pies from Walmart at a much cheaper price. The jams, jellies, and candies felt like the kind of items you’d find in a souvenir shop, all commercially made elsewhere, with no locally made products. The worst part, however, was the service. The store closes at 6 PM, and the kitchen at 5:30 PM. We arrived at 5:20 PM, and the older lady working there clearly did not want us there. She glanced at us and remarked, "You have 10 minutes." I understand the need to wrap up the kitchen early to avoid last-minute orders, but we arrived well before the kitchen was officially closed. Even though it was still before 5:30, she began to put things away around us, showing her irritation. It made for an uncomfortable experience. Overall, I found the food overpriced and comparable to what you could find at Walmart, a selection of cheap souvenir items, and the service was disappointing. Despite being only five miles away, we won’t be returning.
Charming little country store filled with a variety of delicious treats! Definitely worth a visit!
It feels more like a gift shop with snacks. The cashier wasn't very friendly; we got the impression we were interrupting something, as she appeared quite irritated by our presence.
Cute store, prices are high but other than that awesome
Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, need I say more? Oh, but Gooseberry Pie as well. Yummy fresh pecans.
