Carey Out Bbq - McAlester

One of the best BBQ places I was in. The best in McAlester. Some of the best briskets I had. Great food and very friendly staff. I regret to correct this place to anyone who likes BBQ. Try their hot BBQ sauce if you like spicy, good taste and heat.

This store I didn't even know existed before today, but today marked the first day of the long future of return I ate the Brisket Sandwich and Pommes and unnecessary to say I am impressed and I am a picky eater that is extra picky with my BBQ. Looking for a small friendly restaurant, this is a good one to find. I highly recommend it.

Family owned and operated! Only place in the area to eat real BBQ. Everything on the menu is amazing and fairly priced. They also provide great catering options and will accommodate to your needs! Just get out and go eat with the Carey's!

Ok.this is how it went down , I entered the front door and was greeted by a mistery voice here or carry out , so it was eat in I was sure Ted to a side dinning room. Where i sat in the center of the room. That was decorated with signs and coragated galvanized tin. Tables vary in type and desine as does the chairs. Seating in this area looked to be close to 50 chairs. Some 4 some 6. Ok i Sat down and was asked to move to a table of their choice . back in the corner ok I was asked about what to drink and handed a. Menu .it was easy to read and understand. How ever the person waiting informed me that I was having an entry and 2 sides ? So I had the chopped brisket and my sides were potato salad and okra. With unsweet tea . so the wait was 6 min . not bad. What I received was a basket with the okra and chopped brisket. there are several other things on the menu the potato salad caught my eye right off. It was mustard style and had some red pepper streaks in it made it look difrent from run of the mill . next was the deep fried batter dipped okra. It was cooked great but the. BEST part of the dish was hidden under a slice of fresh bread was a fresh chopped portion of brisket.no this was a healthy portion of brisket. It was not over seasoned and it was smoked with the fat left on as it should be . it was very juicy flavor was just right. No salt or pepper needed. And bbq sauce was just a table ornament. No need to change any thing about it . the first Thu g I noticed was it was not dryer out shredded and reheated. This was fresh from the smoker. And was chopped in bite size chunks not shredded. The flavor was best I have had in a long time. Facility's well somewhat simple set up. Simple restrooms. Painted concrete floor small windows the rest room has no hand rails for wheel chair customers , but it was very clean . check out. . it was done with a tablet and plug in swipes when it Got to the tip part of the bill it adoptions that started at 15% now if you go I would quest that you bring some 1's just in case. My 13.00 meal turned in to 19.00. It would work well with family or just a single person. Will I return YES. I will most like my order something else if they let me lol. We used to eat here 3 times a month and the food was great. The menu changed as well as the quality of the food. Pulled pork should not be dripping oil. I ate half the sandwich and was sick for hours. What a shame to lose a good place to eat.
