Made sure to explain the menu to us and advise us on how much to order. We were thinking of ordering more appetizers but the husband who waited on us, was honest and told us not to order too much, so that we would appreciate/enjoy our main courses. Which was really appreciated it wasn't a "money grab" The wine was portioned very generous as well. And the rice pudding for desert was amazing!!!
Marenas is a very relaxing, comfortable place to dine, either Al Fresco, or indoors with a/c. The food is authentic Indian, with a wide assortment of appetizers and typical main dishes. When we visited with friends, we chose to eat family style and shared three main dishes - butter chicken, lamb Korma, and a vegetarian dish, Along with warm naan bread. Delicious, almost licked the plates. The hostess/owner is very welcoming.
Who would have guessed there would be an Indian restaurant in Mazatlan! We found this place after hearing it was good and decided to try it. Lovely atmosphere and great food. We had a fish appetizer that was excellent and then had a curry with huge prawns in a wonderful spicy sauce. All lovingly prepared and served. Chef/owner came out to visit and was very nice. Our waiter explained the menu to us and offered help if we needed it. We had a glass of wine (good) and completed the evening with Indian rice pudding that was warm and wonderful. Thank you for providing Indian food in Mexico!
This was an excellent restaurant as far as choices for main meal go! They lack a few of the traditional entrees but the butter chicken and lamb curries were excellent! They offer roti but it was a ridiculous choice as it was just a simple flour tortilla and not roti! It is not impossible to make naan bread and this would certainly help in getting all the delicious sauce soaked up and even just a fresh crusty Italian crusty bread would replace that so called roti/tortilla ! A little mango chutney also would be nice!Inside windows are not possible to open so it can get a little stuffy inside !
I just ate at the restaurant with my wife and family. I was very disappointed with the quality of the restaurant after initially being excited at the prospect of eating Indian food. Poor service was followed by a poor meal. Indian is my favourite food and this did not taste original at all. I will not be returning
