This place is right at the main market square, in view of the castle. If it looks crowded, there's lots of space in the back, yet you won't get to see the environs from there. The place was relatively busy, and almost every table looked...like it was occupied by groups of friends, or by couples, all in the age range. Obviously this is a very coarse approximation, but you get the idea: apparently it's not damaging to your streed cred to be seen here. Service was rather rapid and friendly, even though the place was bustling. I require a gluten free diet for medical reasons, and fortunately the menu had clearly labeled allergy information, so there was no problem detecting which dishes were gluten free and which weren't. There weren't many gluten free options straight from the menu, but one of them was just what I wanted, so I didn't bother asking whether I could request changes to other dishes. There were many local dishes, by which I mean that many ingredients were specified as being from the direct vicinity of Mayen and it's surrounding villages. Normally, if you think about German cuisine, you might think about thick sauce and inelegant chunks of meat here, though, there were also choices that involved stacks of grilled vegetables, and other possibly more healthy options. Food was quite good, and not expensive at all. I checked the cheap eats box, but this was in no way a budget eatery. They just didn't ask for much money. In all, I can recommend this place if you're in Mayen. Not the best or most excuisite restaurant in the world, but definitely satisfactory, with good food
Drove to Mayen on way back to the dreaded Koblenz from Neuburgring. Decided to stop for a stroll, a drink and then found Dajoh just off the main square Limited menu but great service and ovation We both had one of the best salas Des...on a balmy summer evening Lovely town. No tourists!
Fun place and sure a cult place in my hometown Mayen. I enjoyed the food and the homemade strawberry rhubarb lemonade. Was not a fan of the attitude. When I wanted to pay by card sort of the thing to in these corona days I...was whisked off with a rather meh explanation nur Bares ist Wahres translates badly into English. Kid: I am your customer. You may think you were funny, but customer service plays differently
A coffee break during our journey to France, friendly service good cappuccino and tasty Flammkuchen with their special composition. Clean and cosy interior. Pricing very reasonable
