Not many tables , but the sight of the piano and the double bass in one corner gives an idea of sort of place you have arrived in. No music while we were there, but could imagine how the evening could turn into a good night. We had fried peppers and a prawn dish for starters and grilled dourada (fish) , mixed vegetables and potatoes cooked with the skin on. For dessert , really good chocolate cake and apple tart with an egg custard topping. Everything cooked to perfection. The house Douro wine at 8 euros a bottle was excellent value for money. We travelled from Porto on the metro which took about half an hour. Locating the restuarants was not easy from the map on Tripadvisor, but the local taxi drivers showed us the short walk from the Mercado metro stop. Go there. Enjoy the good food and really friendly owners.
Good food you must try the fish rice. But we should be prepared to pay about 40€ by couple. Nice room, small tables, good service.
Hip tasty and relaxed all at a cool price You can eat a selection of tapas like plates which are truly delightful. For a jaded reviewer who has seen it all this was a fresh find. If you are not too greedy you can move on to one of their delectable mains. But leave enough room for their oh so special I could eat more and more desserts. They have unusual treats in store and then they have a classic Apple pie with a twist ....spoiler alert: the apple on a base of fine crunchy pastry is topped by a magical custard with a bias to apple flavour and a dusting of cinnamon. Back there for a lazy lunch and then again for a special dinner with a bunch of great friends we were treated royally by the cool staff. A must in Porto.
Great seafood and servers were very nice and helpful. Servers spoke English. Several fresh selections to chose from and all looked very fresh. Nice fairly priced wine list.
This is a family restaurant situated just off the touristic bus route, so most probably it 's not the first choice for majority. Also there are no outside tables and it is a bit too classy and romantic inside which left us in a bit of doubt as we were looking for some 'authentic Portuguese experience ', but decided to trust TripAdvisor and stay. I think it was the best decision we could make at that point! The owners of the place are very polite, helpful and passionate about their food! Their food and wine advice was spot on and everything was cooked to perfection! Maybe it was a bit more expensive than other places around, but on the other hand it was very quiet, romantic, clean and thought through, so we could enjoy the heavenly meal in a graceful manner. Moreover, it has to be mentioned that we were the only tourist couple and other visitors seemed to be loyal regulars who must know the best place in the area :
