Alcova - MATERA

Avendo prenotato la camera in questo splendido hotel, abbiamo deciso anche di testarne la cucina per cena. La sala, all'interno del Sasso e con l'illuminazione soffusa, è molto intima e ottima per una cena romantica; i tavoli sono ben distanziati e permettono di conversare tranquillamente. Menù interessante con piatti invitanti che, alla comanda, si presentano impeccabili; materia prima di grande qualità lavorata molto bene, buona la proposta della cantina. La sala impeccabile ed il personale estremamente gentile e preparato. Ci siamo trovati così bene la prima sera, che abbiamo replicato per la cena successiva confermando il primo giudizio molto positivo. Vivamente consigliato per una cena perfetta. Il conto adeguato alla qualità delle portate ed alle etichette della cantina.

Too bad the waiter offered the bitter at all the tables around us, unless to us! probably being the last one had the rush to finish the service. criticisms want to be constructive, you can not give less than 4 stars to a suggestive place like this!

The perfect dinner between the rocks of matera. the location is breathtaking and the atmosphere that give the stones surrounding the room is more unique than rare. the culinary proposal is varied and of good quality: from appetizers to desserts, the kitchen tells the origins of its land. the service is friendly and in line with the proposal of the restaurant.

Exactly as billed. Looks just like the photographs. Well run. Friendly. Wonderful restaurant. Beautiful setting. Close to everything. Dusk and nighttime views of the ancient sassi across the ravine are sensational.

A great spot, amazing views and a unique experience. The hotel has friendly helpful staff and serves a nice breakfast, the only disappointment was our cave room, we did feel it could have been a bit more luxurious given it’s a 4* hotel some soft furnishings, a rug and more furniture would be a simple fix. It also felt damp so maybe a check on that… however we did enjoy the hotel and Matera the staff are a credit to the company.
