Taverna Paradiso - Mata de São João

We went to this restaurant on the advice of hotel staff. The food is homemade and of high quality ingredients. The Ravioli Fenomeno was excellent with fresh mushrooms. The Spaghetti Putanesca had good ingredients but was overly salty (a common attribute to food in the Northeast of Brazil). We had to ask for cheese which came after the food, and we asked for some bread to accompany the pasta and were charged an exorbitant 20 Reais (USD 7). We had thought that would be complementary or minimal cost, and not one-third the price of a full dish made from scratch. The ambience of the restaurant is nice and comfortable.

Service was reasonable but maybe because it wasn't busy at this time of the year But sea food was delicious

I would have rated this restaurant as very excellent but my friends steak was over cooked and my other friends pasta was too salty. I personally had an amazing fish dish.We ordered a mozzarella as a starter and it was absolutely massive. It lacked something that an Italian mozzarella in Europe would have but was still very nice.The service was one of the best we have had in Praia and the staff spoke English which helped us a lot. Overall a nice experience even if a bit pricey.

It is indeed one of the best Italian restaurant in Praia do Forte. I recommend to eat there when visiting this paradise. Been a frequent customer since 2003.

We ordered the octupus as a starter to share and it was delicious! As a main course I had the seafood pasta and it was really good! Lots of really fresh seafood! It was a lot of food... Unfortunately service was very slow. Apart from that everything was great.
