Alta Strada Foxwoods - Mashantucket

We dined here this year because we had such a great experience last year. Well we should have left it at once. The food was basic and the prices for the amount of food, especially the sides and appetizers was ridiculous. $11 for 7 spears of asparagus? And this is supposed to be a shared side according to our waitress. $16 for approximately 15 of the smallest calamari I have EVER seen. The steaks were ok, but I've had better for less. Will not be coming back here for our annual new years dinner again. P

We made a reservation for NYE for 5:45 as we had a concert at 9PM. My wife and I arrived and were seated right away. We looked over the wine list and menus. We ordered apps. I had a shrimp cocktail and my wife had fried eggplant. The shrimp were fine but could have been larger. My wife loved the eggplant. I also tried a bite and it was excellent. Highly recommend this. We then ordered dinner. I had the bone in rib eye and my wife ordered a pasta dish called Maltagliotti. Both were cooked to perfection and were very tasty. We never felt rushed and had an excellent time. Prices are a little high but not bad for a Casino higher end restaurant. We will be going back again.

Their gluten free pasta is the best I have ever had. Food is great! Bread for my non gluten free husband is awesome!

My son was in from London and he chose to go to Altra Strada during our mini Christmas vacation. We had reservations for dinner, but decided to get a quick drink and app earlier at the bar. Crystal was our bartender and she was fabulous. She helped us choose just the right app and made the best martinis we have had at Foxwoods. In addition, we enjoyed our experience so much we returned 4 times during our 5 day stay. We highly suggest the delicious ravioli, rigatoni, and calamari. We also enjoy the Monday night special...Meatballs and Martinis. We will definitely be back.

We were late for our reservation due to traffic and a delay checking in to the hotel. The hostess was still able to get us seated at a lovely table. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable (he helped us select a perfect bottle of wine). Our meals took a bit longer than typical but they were all worth the wait! Two of us had the Salmon and one had Trout. The food was outstanding. Highly recommend and would surely return again.
