Mascoutah Steak House

Good steak, salad, okra. Heading back to try German food.

Weird atmosphere, the breakfast was horrible (sausage gravy out of a can). Just really bad service, never came back to ask about the food.

Nice atmosphere inside, but we frequently order to go. Homemade soups and flatbreads are good. Great prime rib and pork steak. Gorgonzola pasta with steak is very good. Brussel sprouts order as a side are bacon wrapped (one of our favorites).We tried brunch for the first time recently and while the quantity was great for the price we were a little let down by the quality (biscuits and French toast could be better in taste) and the advertised $3 mimosas with flavoring are more like dry champagne with flavoring (no orange juice like a mimosa) so that was bit disappointing. Overall a reliable restaurant with a nice variety on the menu.

Mascoutah Steak House has a nice, rustic setting. I ordered the 10 oz ribeye, salad and baked potato, butter and sour cream on the side. It arrived exactly as ordered.The steak was tender and grilled just right. I took half the steak home with me, as it was a large piece of meat. I would definitely go back.

Overall, a disappointing experience. Our food was average at best and the service poor.
