China Wok - Marysville

They close at 9:30 PM on Sundays, and I picked up my order around 9:20 PM. When I returned to work and saw the meal, I was appalled. I couldn't call them since they were already closed, and today is Monday, when they're also not open. I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to reach out. The smell is awful, the appearance is unappetizing, and the chicken looks undercooked. At the very least, they could have made an effort to brown the chicken. This was my first and will definitely be my last visit here. I’ve attached pictures—one with flash and one without—so you can see the stark difference between what I ordered and what I received. Make sure to check your food before you leave!

Overall, my experience was quite disappointing. Even by the standards of Chinese food takeout, it was subpar. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review, but this was surprising. The Mongolian beef had tough, chewy pieces of meat that didn’t resemble traditional Mongolian beef in either appearance or flavor. It was excessively greasy, almost swimming in oil. The vegetables were heavy and limp, likely due to age or the grease. I managed to eat three bites before I decided to throw away about $11 worth of food, not including the tip I gave before realizing the quality. While the cashier was polite while taking my order, she was on her phone making a personal call as she handed me my meal. She didn’t respond when I asked for chopsticks or acknowledge my “thank you, good night.” That struck me as rather rude.

As always, the food was excellent and prepared even before the estimated time. China Wok has been a favorite of mine for years, and they have never once gotten an order wrong. I highly recommend it!

Awesome fried rice. Gotta get rid of that cement block in the parking lot, but the food is great.

The fried rice isn't anything to write home about but there is just something about it that makes me wants to keep eating it. And the chicken here is crispy! Even the next day after sitting in sauce and heating it up again a good portion was still crispy. My bf and I don't live in the area but we always try and stop by when we are passing through.
