Smokin' G's Bbq Catering - Marshalltown

We have been here a few times to eat with my dad and stepmom. The food the first time was hot, delicious and looked very appealing. The second time and third time we were not overly impressed.My stepmoms food was cold and almost dried out looking as if it had sat somewhere for some time. It was brought to our servers attention and she said she would bring out a new order, but it was the same.I would definitely just make sure what you are ordering is served at the right temperature and not sitting out somewhere.The server we have when we are in there is always super friendly and kind to us.

I was in Iowa for an event. We piled 40 people into this place early Saturday evening. They could not have been more accommodating. Brisket is my BBQ benchmark. The smoked brisket here is the best I've ever had. Everything was great including the sides. The prices are super low. Next time I'm in Iowa I will make a special trip to Marshalltown to get more food from Smokin' G's

I enjoyed a delightful dinner at this restaurant, spending about $10–20 per person. The food was outstanding, earning a perfect 5 out of 5. The service was equally impressive, also rating a 5. The atmosphere enhanced the experience, making it a cozy and inviting place to dine. I highly recommend trying the Mac and Cheese—it was absolutely delicious!

I stopped by for lunch and it was a great decision. While I didn't sample their BBQ, the dishes I saw on other tables looked delicious. I ordered the hot pork tenderloin and it was one of the finest I've had in Iowa in years. It was perfectly coated and cooked, yet remained meaty and tender. The server was very friendly too. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 out of 5.

The burgers and ribs are tasty, and the smaller portion sizes can actually be a benefit. However, it would be nice if they provided some wet naps as well.
