If you are passing by or visiting definitely stay here. This hotel is beautiful and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Also, definitely visit their pub and the crew nest.Rooms: They are gorgeous and comfortable.Walkability: Close to everything in walking distanceFood drinks: Check out the crew nest their drinks are amazing.
Disappointed compared to 20 years of annual visits. Understanding no daily room service, but never a check to see if we needed anything refreshed or to see if any needs. Amenities have been removed, the old historical aspects removed charm removed. New ownership with a different focus. AirBnB in the future folks.
Very DISAPPOINTED. We booked our room here with high expectations but were underwhelmed. From recommendations of friend 's who stayed here years ago, to the pictures on their web page. Those recommendations and pictures are both from a time ago. The room looked nowhere near any of the pictures, as it was supposedly remodeled ; painted over wallpaper, and on the white ceiling cheap wood floor. The room was stuffed with IKEA type furniture that distracted any possible charm. Our room had a beautiful view of Lake Superior but the large TV was placed directly in front of the window, limiting the view. The shower had mold around it, the room was very dirty, we cleaned ourselves just to be comfortable to stay in it. The employees were very nice but were extremely understaffed. The nice breakfast restaurant had only one hard working person doing everything at breakfast, host, waitress, cook, and bus girl. The breakfast menu only had six items to choose from, which the two of the items we choose were both not good. Parking is terrible, not enough spaces for the size of the hotel, making you have to find a spot on the streets. One of the two elevators were broken for the two days we stayed there. We tried to locate another hotel after the first night, but nothing was available locally. You could see that this hotel was a very nice destination place in its day but years of poor management, neglect, lack of cleaning and bad remodeling attempts has really taken there toll. Talking to other guests that have stayed here over the years, stated that it has been going downhill but this was the worst they have ever seen it. I would find another choice while staying in Marquette,
Disappointed that the hotel was modernized. The of style rooms were beautiful a few years ago. We went to Marquette to stay at the Land Mark for its charm. We should have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.
