The Rex Food Bar - Marleston

The restuarant was clean and tidy, but very tired and dated, it was like in the time to go when the toilet to visit. service was friendly and efficient, but they could see that they were under the pump. eating was fresh and delicious, only very late. we have not said anything other than the manager voluntarily apologised to our table and offered free desserts and recommended our meals were minutes away. that was very impressive.

Eating was very average pub fare. our order was placed wrong, the waitress was very apologetic, but we waited for 45 minutes to eat. the place really needs a envelope, he had no facelift in 25 years.

I ordered a psteak with mushroom engraving and salat. the salate was really pleasant. the chips were crispy. the medium was rarer and the mushroom engraving was very, very thin. we asked the waitress if the cook could make a thicker engraving for 2 people and she said: “Well, all he can do is put a normal engraving in them”. she brought back a hybrid body that had dried the side of the dish and knocked it on bread and teller. how is it that their pictures are not hanging on the wall. I thought the ones I looked at were turned off until my friends pointed to the ones behind me. we booked for 10 people tonight and eat regularly at night. next meal will be somewhere else.

Chicken Schnitzel was very juicy and could have been cooked a bit longer. Vegetables were still dripping causing soggy chips. Service was what gets the higher rating, staff were lovely!
