Travelin' Bones Bbq - Marlborough

I work in the same building as Travelin' Bones and had been procrastinating trying their food. After finally giving it a shot, I immediately regretted not doing it sooner. While they are a bit pricier, Travelin' Bones is definitely worth the money. The portion sizes are quite generous. The brisket is delicious and among the best I’ve ever had. The mac and cheese was pretty good, and the corn cake was surprisingly delightful, especially since I’m not usually a fan of cornbread—it had just the right amount of sweetness and wasn’t too dry. I’m eager to visit more often to explore their other offerings. The reviews I’ve seen don’t do them justice, particularly because they sometimes operate a food truck at busy events. If you’re looking for a quick and tasty lunch in the area, definitely give them a try.

My Father and Mother have always existed in my mmin and heart as ?THE SINGLE BEST? BBQ chefs in the WORLD....my whole life, I 've tried BBQ at many many scores of joints....and truth be told a couple have come close.....this TRAVELIN ' BONES place creates these ribs that are low and slow like Mamma and Daddy would do them..... DAMN GOOD sauce also. And also really good flavorful, biting sides. As I contemplate going full out vegetarian or vegan, when I think back on my youth and what brought me deep comfort it was ribs. And my family would ALWAYS (and to this day) tease me about that. As I edge closer to V or V I know that I 'll have to readjist my relationship with my past comfort foods.

After waiting 45 minutes, I started to think something was wrong. As time went on, I noticed a long line of around 100 people also waiting for their food. We ended up waiting an hour and a half for our small order, and still, nothing had come out. By this point, I was furious and went to ask for a refund, only to find a line of other frustrated customers who also wanted refunds. Some had been waiting for over an hour and twenty minutes, but our wait was by far the longest. The cashier seemed to ignore those of us who wanted refunds and was overwhelmed. To make matters worse, we saw that they had dropped the tickets, and they were scattered on the floor, covered in BBQ sauce. It seemed like they didn’t know the order of the pending requests. Instead of focusing on resolving the issue, they just kept taking more orders! I couldn’t believe it when another customer next to me shouted for them to stop taking orders, but it fell on deaf ears. Finally, after an hour and fifty minutes, I heard them call my name. At that point, I was so frustrated that I had already decided to eat a hamburger from the concession stand at Nashoba instead. When we eventually tasted the Mac and Cheese after a two-hour wait, it was cold and quite bland. It felt like we had wasted $34 on this overpriced dish. It’s clear that the food truck needs to implement a better system for handling orders. They seem more focused on the volume of orders rather than the quality of their food or the timely service. I won’t be going back!

After waiting for about an hour, we considered asking for a refund, but the processing was so delayed that our food was finally ready just as we reached the front of the line. In hindsight, I wish we had opted for a refund instead—anything would have been better than what we received. Overall, the wait simply wasn’t worth it.

Visiting the traveler Bones Food Truck and I can't say anything positive. Terrible and slow service! Food was bad for medium. It took an hour and 40 minutes to get food (not including time in line). I pulled Mac and cheese and pork. The cheese sauce separated and a little grainy. The pulled pig was room temp when we got it. Definitely not worth waiting! About an hour to wait we came to a refund, but they were so slow in processing that our food was finally ready until we reached the front of the line. I wish we had left a refund because something else would have been better.
