We ordered a 60 pcs plater at 85$. I called them on Saturday at noon. Most of the items were sold out. I placed an order for 8pm since that is their closing hour, but they said they were closing at 7 pm since everything sold out pretty fast on that day. I got there at 6h30 around. My tray was already done. I was disappointed once I had my fist bite. The tempura in the roll was soggy. The cuts of the sashimi were too thick, in my opinion. 60 pcs, and they only gave 3 soya sauce. I read a lot of reviews mentioned how you need to place an order in advice. I feel like they had prepared my plater a lot in advice, then the usually pick-up time, that's why my sushis were soggy and the fish were not as fresh as I would like. The good side is the variety of fish they put in a normal party tray compared to Montreal sushi takeout.
Very friendly service and better than average sushi. They always pickup the phone to take orders even though their store is closed. And they're patient with questions. Fish is fresh-er on Fridays (IMO). Unfortunately, I've had experienced where the seaweed is very soft as if the sushi platter has been sitting into the fridge ready for pickup for longer than expected.
Truly one of my favourite takeout sushi places in Toronto, with fresh ingredients at a reasonable price. Their uni especially is delicious, and I really cannot recommend this place enough for chirashi dons or party trays. Go up the escalators from the T&T and then turn right (but they're only open on Fridays and weekends so definitely order in advance)
Toyosu is a sushi take-out joint in Markham. I dare to say that this is the finest sushi takeout one can imagine. We got the large premium mix (103 pieces) and some of the pieces are o-toro, large shrimp, uni, scallop, geoduck, mackerel, tobiko, salmon, tuna. The freshness and ingredients quality are 10/10. Value for money is 10/10 as you'll likely to spend 2x-3x if eating at restaurant instead. We are a fan and will be coming back.Note: large premium mix comfortably feed 3-4 people.
