My wife and I traveled to guanajuato for a week and we were destroyed with the lack of good food facilities. we had resigned quite a lot to go to eat to survive the mode when we stumbled on this little jewel of a restaraunt. we saw it during a visit to the diego de rivera museum, as it is about half a block away, shortly after a tunnel entrance. we went in to check the dinge and found a great little bistro type decor with pariser decor. it is comfortable, quiet and not intended as so many French restaurants. le parisien serves traditional french spits such as swirl soup, ratatouille, various meats and wings in cream or similar sauces. it also has an international menu that tortilla espanola, enchiladas mineras (via the only thing guanajuato can claim as good food, and various other entrees. they serve a three court festive meal that deserts a suppe or salat, a main dish of the day, and a simple but tasteful. also included in the meal is a fresh water drink (we had jamaica- hibiscus tee- the tasteful and not excessively sweet. this fixed price meal is so a good offer that I actually went forward to check the price for it - fifty pesos (approx. $4.30 !. we are both on low-sodium diets and our first meal was a bit salty, but we ate there three more paints and they prepared to eat only for our desires. try the chicken with chipotle spiced cream sauce. it's delicious. we only wish we had found it a bit earlier, we would probably have had all our lunchtime there. we ate in a few other restaurants around the parque union. the food was perfect and cost two to three times as much as for le parisien.
