Pizza Foundation - Marfa

This place is Great!! Each year I come out from Florida to West Texas and New Mexico (where I use live) and always attempt to eat here but never know when they are open. Will be at Rendevous at White Shaman this February. Hopefully they will be open. Yummy

Called on a Monday evening multiple times but went to voice mail. Voice mailbox full. Operating hours shows it should be open.

My experience in Marfa was fun, but unfortunately, this didn't particularly add to that. We came here after a long day for a dinner meal, and this just happened to be the only one that was open. I just wanted to preface that it takes a lot for pizza to impress me. Unfortunately, this place was unable to do so. The good thing was that they were able to provide fresh ingredients despite them being in the middle of nowhere essentially. The ambiance was nice, and they have good service; everything was clear and transparent. The crust was good, and they seemed to use real pizza oven. Because of this, I expected the pizza to have real-pizza-oven results. However, I was let down. Though the taste was okay (neither the dough nor the toppings were anything special), it was the structural integrity of the pizza that let me down. It was sopping wet, and I was unable to hold the pizza horizontal to put in my mouth, even with the classic hot-dog folding technique combined with the two hand technique. I essentially had to let it hang down vertically and look completely straight up to get a nice, sizable bite. Because of this, everything just tasted like goo in my mouth. Marfa was a good trip, but I do not recommend you go to this place. 2/5 stars.

Placed an order at 2:10 pm. They said I could pick it up at 7:30 pm. Nope! Evidently they only do 2 pizzas every 15 minutes so they fill up quickly

Fantastic NY style pizza. Crust crisp but chewy at the same time. Toppings all quality, yes it's not cheap but it's not little Cesar's. I like little Cesar's also but that's different. I think the pricing is spot on given the quality. Lots of beers to choose and wine. Call in your order early because the wait can be long, we went spring break week so lots of tourists like us. Lady running the pace was as nice as can be. Also ice cream and fancy sodas drinks for kids. We also had a Greek salad to balance thing Lanier and get some fiber in there.
