Marcelena our cook and host was wonderful and very welcoming . We were a group of 6 , 2 from Porto, 2 from Edinburgh, 2 from Newcastle. All foodies. What can I say? The food, traditional and tasty. The staff, Vera our friendly waitress, helpful attentive and friendly. The location? Views are incredible, A superb experience. The price ? Very reasonable.
Fabulous restaurant! Service was fast and friendly The food was excellent and to top it off we had a breathing taking view of the Douro River. Definitely a place to stop in and have a wonderful meal with great ambiance.
Worst experience on our holiday! Avoid this place at all cost! We arrived at 8pm after making a reservation. Surprisingly the restaurant wansnt open and we were told to wait outside .. eventually they opened so we sat on a table. A young girl brought us the menu. We wanted to order a filet steak and were told she will check if they have it. After 20 min of waiting (the girl was serving the other tables and just ignoring us) we waved and asked if the steak was available. We were told NO. Ok, so we ordered “posta arouqiesa” another “very good meet” we were told. When it arrived I tried to cut through it and it was so hard a rubbery that my knive couldn’t even cut it. We tried different parts of the meat all equally inedible. We told the girl we couldn’t eat this. Waited another 15 min for someone to come to us to let us know if we could change this to another dish. Finally we were so upset that we decided to ask to pay and just leave. Our night was completely ruined and we had to go to bed on an empty stomach. We were also asked to pay 10€ for some bread and cheese we had as a starter (we didn’t even order it) and water that was from the tap...
Very nice and cozy restaurant, food was traditional Portuguese, well prepared, rich in taste and service was very good.a beautiful view over the Douro valley
