Rita’s Cantina - Marathon

We randomly selected this restaurant while returning home from our family trip to Big Bend, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! While we were there, they hosted a star party, taking advantage of the fact that this location is situated in one of the best spots in the world for stargazing. That evening, numerous astronomers gathered, including the owner and some staff members, who generously allowed us to look through their telescopes. My son was absolutely fascinated. Bill, one of the guides at the observatory, spent hours with us, explaining the intricacies of astronomy. We stayed until 11:30 PM and even rose early the next morning to meet Bill again, who took us out to admire the stars and planets visible just before sunrise. I had never seen Saturn and its rings, or Jupiter with its moons, so clearly before. We learned so much about astronomy from Bill during those five hours. The following night, back home, my son eagerly set up our telescope to search for some of the celestial objects we had observed the previous evening. Unfortunately, our telescope and the light pollution from Austin made it less exciting. Bill, thank you for an enchanting night that sparked my son's curiosity!

I absolutely love this place! It's peaceful and located in a remote area. The staff is friendly, providing excellent service, and the ambiance is fantastic! I will definitely return!

The restaurant is really lovely, featuring a fantastic outdoor terrace with beautiful views of the night sky and sunrise.

1100 miles a way that crossed fingers that this place was all we thought it was. Holy cow, it was ever! Danny and the entire staff are just amazing. The park is clean, well maintained and well maintained. The courtyard with its fountain and fireplace is a truly relaxing way to spend an evening. The skys are dark, and the telescope area is first rate, with all the power and protection you could ask. There's just no bad thing to say about this place or his people. Thanks again to all those who earn our first annual SpaceOnly a great success!

This is a great RV park. I have stayed here several times and have enjoyed it every time. The views are spectacular and there is lots of wildlife to watch.
