Villa Del Mare - MARATEA

Excellent food, service. The gardens were lush and the grounds were very well tended to. You felt special walking through the terrace going to the pool and overlooking the sea. Breathtaking pictures were captured.

Ho cenato e pranzato al ristorante dell'hotel per due giorni e non posso che ringraziare per l'ottima cucina. Il pesce fresco ogni giorno, la cucina locale e il servizio in camera puntuali. La vista sulla costa è quel tocco in più che rende ogni pasto speciale! Grazie ancora a tutto il personale per l'ospitalità, il buon cibo e l'atmosfera rilassante!

The hostess was warm and pleasant. The food and service less so. The servers were inept but perhaps that is understandable as it was mid-May and very early in the season. No English spoken by the servers, but that’s ok, it is, after all, Italy! We shared a starter of marinated salmon and anchovies which was very tasty. One of us ordered vitello, which turned out to be beef, I’m sure, but it was delicious. The other had risotto which was an unappealing color and had something gritty, like sand in it. We know the difference between that and “al dente”. We were staying across the road at Villa Cheta and will return there for our last dinner in town.

Outstanding. The menu is new and inviting each day. Not the cheapest place on the coast but up there as one of the best.

Went to hotel to use the spa. They were not ready. Didn't have the sauna on warming. Charged to use the pool. It the sauna was for twenty minutes only. They were ill equipped and not up to Americans standards as spas go. The massage was wonderful Thai massage but everything else in the spa was awful
