We went to this Shopping Centre as it has a both a Rivers store and a Red Dot - both good for kids to wander. This café is open Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm and is very good value in terms of quality of food and quantity; with several main meals between $12.50 and $13.50 as well as smaller "snack size" foods available.Husband and I settled on the Chicken Schnitzel whilst the "I'm starving" grandkids ordered the Chicken Parma. What good chicken, all 4 portions simply melted in your mouth, cooked to perfection. The kids loved the bacon hidden under a generous serving of cheese. All meals came with a reasonable sized' very fresh' garden salad and generous serving of chips. This is the very first time that the bottomless pit called an 11 year old, actually could not finish his meal. Our first coffee was really good and this was repeated on a 2nd coffee we both enjoyed as the kids struggles to finish their chips - which neither of them did as the chicken portion was so big. An unheard of experience believe me.The grandkids enjoyed a true milkshake - I mean not a super sweet premade concoction but a true milk shake made and served in a metal container. They could not believe how great it tasted and were most impressed with the frothy bubbles on top that you only get with a traditionally made milk shake.I noticed another family at a near by table where the children had a burger meal, sandwich and the mother had the soup of the day served with crusty bread. It must have been good as I overheard her requesting two takeaway containers of the soup.Cannot believe this has not been reviewed previously. A family run business that all should be supporting rather than the many fast food places in the same area.My grandkids informed me that every Saturday morning there is a Lions Club large Swap Meet in the main car park. Come on people - without support small family run cafes like this will cease to exist and we'll be left with fast food outlets only. There's a place for both - but to survive these small shopping centre cafes really need our support
I randomly discovered this lovely cafe. The food was both affordable and delicious! The coffee was excellent and the service was very friendly.
The new owner(s) have not lived up to the expectations set by the previous owner. The coffee tastes burnt and bitter. The selection of hot dips in the glass cabinet remains the same every day. The restaurant lacks atmosphere and the service is inconsistent. Sadly, it is the only place in the shopping center to buy a coffee. I prefer to go elsewhere to meet a friend for coffee and a snack.
What a hidden gem in the Newpark Shopping Centre! We brought our grandchildren (ages 8 and 11) there for a birthday celebration on one of their school-free days. The shopping center, with its river and play area, was perfect for the kids to explore. This café is open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5pm and offers excellent quality and quantity of food. Main dishes range from $12.50 to $13.50, with smaller snack options also available. My husband and I chose the chicken carving, while our hungry grandchildren went for the chicken parma. The chicken was cooked to perfection and simply melted in our mouths. The kids especially enjoyed the speck hidden under a generous portion of cheese. Each meal came with a fresh garden salad and a generous serving of chips. This was the first time our 11-year-old grandson couldn't finish his meal! The coffee was great, and we enjoyed a second round while the children struggled to finish their chips due to the large portion of chicken. The kids loved the real milkshakes served in metal containers. Another family nearby had burger meals, sandwiches, and soup with crusty bread, all of which they raved about. It's surprising this place hasn't been reviewed before. It's a family-owned business that deserves support over the many fast food chains in the area. My grandchildren informed me that every Saturday morning, a Lions Club holds a swap meet in the main parking lot. Let's support small family cafes like this one before they disappear and we're left with only fast food options. Both have their place, but these small cafes truly need our support.
