Happy Joe's Pizza Ice Cream Maquoketa

The pizza was on par with Pizza Hut, so it was pretty good for a small establishment. They have games where you can win coupons and prizes, but several of them were out of order. Overall, the place could use some updates; it seems a bit worn out over the years. Also, there were quite a few flies buzzing around. I'm glad I gave it a try, but I don’t think I’ll return.

The service could definitely be improved. The staff, mostly teenagers, seemed uninterested in their work. The pizza was decent, but not exceptional, and it felt overpriced for what it was. The cleanliness of the place also left much to be desired. On the positive side, there are a few games available for kids to enjoy. However, parking options are limited.

We specifically chose this location to enjoy the lunch buffet. Upon entering, the staff quickly took our silverware and drink orders. After paying for the buffet, we selected a table and started filling our plates! If you want something from the buffet, just ask, and they will gladly accommodate your request. The pizza was delicious, as always, with our favorites being the BLT and Taco varieties! In addition to pizza, the buffet included Salisbury steaks, brown gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, mozzarella sticks, cheese bread, and dessert pizza. The Salisbury steaks were decent, but I had hoped for a bit more. Aside from that, everything else was tasty, and the dessert pizza was sweet and enjoyable.

I waited for two and a half hours, and when my order finally arrived, they forgot to include the 2-liter soda. I'm really unhappy with the experience.

Feels like a small town Chuck E. Cheese. Got a classic pepperoni pizza. The crust was a good crisp and a generous helping of pepperoni.
