We took a Panama Canal cruise on board the Holland America's Oosterdam, and in Manzanillo, Mexico, where the film was turned 10, we decide to take a city tour with Danitours with Daniel Perez and his young son and daughter, to make sure we leave the bus safely.... At Aquarius Restaurant sip cheap Mexican Cervezas (Corona beer) for $2 each. The Tacos and Burritos are delicious. The service was slow, but it didn't matter how we enjoyed the view of the beach.
I have never written such a negative review, but Aquarius Restaruant on Miramar Beach in Manzanillo should come with a warning not to eat there. The food is so-so---not bad, not particularly good-- and the service is bad, but the actual problem is the bill... You get after you're done. The management tried to deceive my husband and me twice in a row when we were eating there last time. First, they gave us an invoice in US dollars when the price menu is listed in Pesos. (Note: If you get a check in dollars, send it back and ask for it in Pesos. We know the value of the peso against the dollar, and this bill was almost twice as much as it should be. We sent him back and asked him in Pesos. They just turned the dollar into Pesos and sent it back to us. Now it was almost twice as much as the prices on the menu. When we requested a copy of the menu, pointed out prices and requested a third invoice, they gave us urgently. At that time, we were angry at them and they seemed angry at us because they caught them in their stupid little trick. Here is my best guess about what they have: you accept who looks like a foreigner - especially everyone who looks like a Canadian or US citizen does not speak Spanish and will be too stupid to take a close look at the bill, especially when it comes to them in dollars. Even tourists will be too insecure to deal with the problem in Spanish. Unfortunately for Aquarius, my husband, whom I have lived in Latin American for years, and we both speak fluently Spanish. We were polite with them, but firm, although we were quite angry about the repeated attempt to let us pay too much for our meals. When we left, my husband said: once giving a too high check, a mistake could have been. To give it to us twice was clearly fraud. Needless to say, we will never eat again in Aquarius and we recommend not to eat there either. If you do this, make sure you have a copy of the Spanish language menu in your hand when you receive your invoice, and check all fees accurately.
