We initially overlooked it the first night, opting for a place we thought would offer more "local flavor." That turned out to be a mistake! The food was excellent and came in generous portions. One night, they even had live music. There was a great selection of beer and spirits as well. Be careful with the Sun Burns cocktail — it will surprise you! If you're a rum lover, definitely give it a try! Plus, the views of the back bay are beautiful!
Really fun place to stop. Spare of the moment change in plans, due to weather today, and I happened upon this cozy spot. Service staff was friendly. Bar area filled with what appeared to be locals. That's always a good sign, in my book. The food was very good! Best fish chips ever. I kidded that they were an international restaurant. I had a Mexican cocktail, crab rangoon appetizer and the Irish lunch. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend that if you are in Manteo, check Stripers out.
My granddaughter found a piece of metal in her salad. My other granddaughter got her dinner when we were all finished ours. I think they forgot hers but told us the kitchen was busy.
The food was pretty tasty, but the service was not the best. Granted there were only 2 servers on the 2nd floor manning ALL the tables. We were forgotten about multiple times, and I even had to get up to request our bill to check out. The atmosphere was beautiful, we sat near the window, and we were able to see the boats go in and out. I would go back.
We brought in fresh crab and shrimp that we had just caught. After walking from the boat to the restaurant, they cooked it for us and served it hot on the deck. We had a fantastic experience and I highly recommend visiting!
