Rendezvous Gourmands - Mansle

We had passed by the road to this little place numerous times and finally happened to be at the right place at the right time! We were greeted and seated and informed of the menu and made our choices. There were two lunch menus, one of steak and chips with buffet starter and choice of dessert, the other a choice of chicken or bourganeuf also with a buffet starter and choice of dessert. The buffet was a selection of various pastas meats and vegetables and was very tasty. Mains were also tasty, the chicken served with a veg and herb sauce fell off the bone, and they served 'proper ' chips! Desserts were a choice of 5 and we opted for the Isle Flottant and a Normandy tart, both of which were fine. There was also a quarter litre of red wine included in the cost of the menus which were 15 euros for the steak and 12.50 for the other options. This is primarily an establishment for the working people to have a quick tasty and cheap meal, but is equally good for passers-by as we found! Don 't expect to be seated at a table for 2 or 4. The smallest lay out was for 6 and we shared our table with just one other gentleman. Others had the table to themselves. On the whole the service and food were of very good quality and we would definitely recommend, and return, to this place.
