I had lunch with friends at this restaurant and tried the chip shop platter, which was fantastic. There were plenty of screens to watch the cricket game and the staff was very welcoming.
I had the pleasure of meeting Emma and Holly, who perfectly embody the essence of the Oak Tree restaurant. From our first visit, we felt welcomed and by the second visit, we felt like part of the family. Their interactions with the locals showed their true character. Can't wait to visit again soon.
3 of us ate here for sunday lunch and was very dissappointed with the food. We ordered via the app which was straight forward and food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but the food wasn't great at all. Roast beef was really tough and full of gristle. Roast potatoes looked overdone and tasted like they'd been reheated several times. yorkshire pudding was impossible to cut with a knife, dry and hard. carrots were also hard and dry and would have been softer if they were raw. eating it was a jaw work out! needless to say, we wont be returning
Thought we’de give it another try as we only live over the road and once again (3rd or 4th time it fails miserably on customer service WHEN THEY MAKE MISTAKES. It’s every time ….. !!!! The So called chef needs a bit of training on customer service. Ordered the food at the bar. Waited a fair while (not excessive and both plates of food put down and server legged it… Not given chance to see that one dish was totally wrong… after going back to the bar (Q again…. to report the error, my dish going cold, bar staff reported the error to the kitchen. Server came back out and wanted to take wrong order back and recook it BUT ONLY WHEN I WENT BACK TO THE BAR TO PAY THE EXTRA £2 !!!! Yes £2 the difference between what they’de charged and whet came out (their fault remember …. so I did (in a Q ….. meanwhile my dish going cold and the server then wanted to (wait for it re-warm up my dish and come back out when the wrong one was recooked !!!!!!! **** off…. Asked server to cook 2 fresh dishes to come out correct at the same time, only to have a message back from the dillusional chef that he wouldnt cook 2 fresh dishes .. I’m supposed to eat a soggy warned up dish 20 minutes later when the wife’s dish comes out .. Out of order, bad customer service… fel sorry for the lovely young lady that initially took the order, but obvious;y the chef and manager aren’t on the same page as her… Oh and p.s. the place needs a refund it smelt of wee as you went to the table . Last chance saloon for us… dump. OUT OF ORDER, typical Greenking
