We had an amazing dinner a week ago. Totally impressed by the food, service and ambience in this lovely restaurant. We had a delicious menu suggested by the very attentive and connaisseur chef. Especially the foie gras with apricot sauce made my day. You can...More
Really fancied seafood, and this place looked good frm the outside. I guess the fact that there was not a visible menu at the front should have warned me off.As it turned out, the menu was very limited, and did not appear to subscribe to the theory of 'good ingredients cooked simply and well'. The food was all a bit overdone and overpriced - 15.50 for a starter, and 31.00 for a main course. The staff member recommended the three dishes he thought we should have, none of which appealed. I had to ask him to explain all the dishes that were on offer, as he seemed not keen on our eating anything else. We decided not to go for the very expensive main courses, and have two appetisers and a dessert. The first starter, described as 'mini lobster' looked like langoustine to me. They were quite tasty, but the portion size was a bit on the small side. The second starter, a monkfish risotto, was quite nice too, but nothing spectacular, the little hunks of fish being a bit overcooked and the rice just short of chalky. The puddings - a 'peach cake' which was actually an apricot flan, and the apricot panna cotta, were very nice, but once again, not very generous. So the food was okay but not fabulous. When we asked for the wine list to choose a glass of wine, the server was reluctant to give it to us, and almost insisted he choose the wine himself. Happily it was a good riesling which was well matched with the risotto.Add in a gin and tonic and a bottle of pricey mineral water, and a fairly slender mini meal came in at 112 euros. I'm not at all sure that it was worth it.
Totally overpriced and their cooking is somewhere between average and not that great. Really can not recommend this place.
This is a small restaurant in Brasserie style. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and of good choice. But the real surprise was in the plate: ingredients are fresh and top quality! The chef does make some creative combinations but always not too strong I think to accommodate the tastes of everyone. We had fish it was really fresh and perfectly cooked. You can go with confidence you will not be disappointed by either the staff or the meal!
