Luisella - Mannheim

After being disappointed last time I was there, I went back to try the pizza. Actually it was one of the best pizzas I've had in Mannheim! Can recommend!

I heard many friends saying that the Luisella has great food but had not tried it. Finally managed to go. The prosciutto antipasti was just some salad with mortadella and cost euros. Horrible. The filled sepia with pasta was very dry and the sauce...was just bad, like ketchup sauce. The panna cotta tasted good but was more of a pudding. Don't know if the pizza is any good but not going back to try it, certainly. Spent euros for two people and ate horrible food. The wine was good and the service as well and the place is cozy.

Luisella is located in a not too busy street of Mannheim, offering a few tables to sit outside, as well as indoor sitting, too. It offers freshly made homemade pasta (surcharge together with all the dishes one would expect to find at an Italian restaurant....The quality of the food was good, however the service was rather slow and lacked efficiency (at the time of my visit only a few tables were occupied). If you are nearby and fancy Italian food give it a try!

I ate here a few years ago. Was impressed a couple of times and then very disappointed. Have now had the same result. After a couple of great meals, the last two weeks (three visits) have been aweful. We actually had to turn away food...twice. (and typical for Germany, you're still on the hook to pay for bad food) I have a feeling the chef may have changed as the food quality went downhill in recent weeks.

Food is delicious, menu is monthly changed according to seasonal availability of fruits and vegetables. Always new ideas and events. Famous cooks are coming for interesting cook events, regularly. Even pizza is one of the best in this region. Must go!
