Fody's in Kafertal - Mannheim

Went today for my birthday breakfast and was surprised. Breakfast is buffet with lots of choices, you can even make your own waffle which i have not seen on any restaurant. Lots of cold cuts, sausage, eggs, breads, youghurt and much more. Highly recommend the place!

This was our second restaurant in Germany chosen due to our lack of transportation and it's proximity to the Kafertal Sud Street Car stop (15 minute walk.) We went off a recommendation from an American on base when we mentioned we wanted authentic German cuisine. Fody's website says they offer International, German, American, and Mediterranean Cuisine. The children all had chicken nuggets and fries, I had the sausage salad (unique), and the wife had something exotic (soso.) The girls received 8 ounce sodas that were served cool. The wife and I had Hefeweizen, our new favorite beers. Perhaps because I'm not very cultured, I did not enjoy my sausage salad that appeared to be spaghetti made out of bologna. The wife and kids ate their meals but also shared some distaste. The umbrella covered fenced in patio seems to be standard around these parts during this time of year however the flying bug problem there was a little off putting. Our waiter spoke passable English, was very patient with us and even brought us a menu in English. Dinner for 4 with a few beers came to about 40 euros.
