Happy Chef - Mankato

Charming diner with friendly service and delicious food. Jill provided excellent service. They've recently updated their hours to close at 6 PM instead of 7, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this place over other diners nearby. As an early riser, I was pleased to find they opened at 6 AM.

The food was outstanding, and the service was fantastic. During my last visit, I enjoyed the fried steak and bread pudding. If I may offer a suggestion, I would recommend serving butter instead of margarine with the bread. Everything else was wonderful!

Always a delightful dining experience! The portions are generous, and the food is delicious. I'm a huge fan of the Southern Skillet served with rye bread, while my boyfriend enjoys the corned beef hash accompanied by fluffy pancakes! Even during these times when restaurant service can be lacking, we’ve never had any issues. The service is consistently fast and friendly! Stopping by the Happy Chef is always a pleasure. I also make it a point to take a photo by the large statue outside and see what it has to say!

It smells really good when you walk in. Very attentive staff all around. Very clean 0utside and inside had a great atmosphere. If you are passing by and see the happy chef please stop.
