Tihoi Tavern - Mangakino

We made a nice stop on our long journey to the national park. The burger was great, prepared in the New Zealand style, and the beer was excellent too!

A cozy tavern serving delicious dishes with generous portions. It's also a free camping spot, allowing you to park overnight at no cost. On my first visit, I ordered the dish number 29, which featured a delightful combination of meat, fish, shrimp skewers, and fries. It was hands down the best meal I had in New Zealand! I was thrilled. However, when I returned about 6 or 7 months later, I was eager to savor that amazing dish again. Unfortunately, it wasn't available that evening, which left me quite disappointed after traveling to enjoy it. Instead, I opted for the Tihoi Burger, which was quite tasty. Still, dish number 29 is truly exceptional and definitely worth the trip!

Surprisingly better than it appears! I stopped by for a pitcher of lemonade after biking along the Great Lake Trail and ended up having a burger as well. Everything was great! They offer coffee, food, ice cream, and even beer, which is fantastic! However, clearer signage would definitely be a plus.

Enjoyed a great meal after a long day on the road. Both the steak and fish were quite tasty and the staff was fairly friendly. Not a bad campsite either with a clean bathroom and plenty of space.

Price is quite affordable and food is awesome, would come again
