Despite repeatedly informing the server that we wanted our food to be less spicy, the dal and vegetables were still too hot. We mentioned this to the restaurant staff, but no action was taken. The hygiene of the establishment was also lacking, as the plates and tables were dirty. It is advisable to stick to dining at MP tourism restaurants in Mandu, rather than taking chances elsewhere.
It is one of the few restaurants close to the archaeological environment of mandu. eating is really top quality, it has a few underwriting dishes from mandus history with names like rani court. there are enough seats for a whole bus full of tourist. The food quality was quite good, indore area has generally good food and this restaurant also does not fail. we ordered a series of Veg dishes, including some of the special dishes, and they were all good quality. the roti was also quite hot and tasty.
On the main road in mandu we had a very good stay. extremely large bedroom! very clean. well located to hike in mandu and visit various places of interest; beautiful center around a big tree where we used to have our...chai every morning; delicious and honest local prizes. shivani hotel was very good, nice staff and friendly enough to share their network connection we needed. friendly and helpful. the restaurant was also good. it was our everyday edge. we enjoyed mandu and would return to this hotel without hesitation. mandu offers a earthquake from the Mughal empire with interesting places a little sent. there are also stunning baobab trees in mandu that makes this place very special. they wouldn't find it anywhere in India. mandu is worth staying 2-3 days and we recommend 'd in any case shivani resort restaurant.
The name Shivani seems to be all pervasive in Mandu. The Shivani Restaurant and the Shivani Resort seem to be all over. We stopped at Shivani Restaurant for lunch during our recent trip to Mandu to sample the local cuisine as recommended by our friends....The restaurant was empty as it was not the tourist season and it took a while for our meal to arrive. We ordered the thali with the local cuisine of Dal Bafla. Dal Bafla is very akin to the Rajasthani Dal Bhatti and the Bihari Litti Chokha. The same was served with kadi (a watery curry made of curd) and an additional sabzi (vegetable) which in our case was potato peas curry. The Dal Bafla was worth the wait, but the rest of the meal was barely average. I suppose it was because of the non tourist season. The restaurant was absolutely functional but was extremely large, could seat a comfortable 150 at a time. Overall an average experience.
