Gourmet Deli Cafe - Manchester

Located off the beaten path, this restaurant is tucked away in the back of a small shopping district near the city center. The menu is handwritten on posters and orders are placed at a window. Seating is available on the terrace, where diners are called to collect their food when ready. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a cozy food stall with excellent offerings. If the weather is nice, it's definitely worth a visit.

My husband picked up our food during his lunch break, but my cheese curds were missing and my chicken sandwich was cold. He called the restaurant and they said they would fix it. He returned to get a new chicken sandwich and the missing cheese curds, but by the time he got back, his food was cold again. To make matters worse, we were charged twice on our card - once for $24 and another $8.25 for the forgotten cheese curds. Instead of just giving him a fresh hot sandwich, they made him leave his food again to get the correct order. We were very disappointed with the service and will not be ordering from this restaurant again.

Giving three stars because the clam strips were great and I loved the sweet potato fries, but my cod fish and chips were EXTREMELY fishy smelling and tasting. So bad that it made my stomach sick for about 4 hours after. Not sure if it was really that fresh. I don't recommend getting fish and chips here. Maybe stick to fried clams or shrimp.

Typical lunch spot menu. Outside seating nice an quiet. Food was average. The average rating does not mean it was bad just nothing spectacular.
