Mammoth Hot Springs

You can't expect luxury in most national park lodges. You're paying for location. There are crowds of visitors jamming our national parks and there are only a very limited number of rooms to rent. So, if you want to avoid long drives to hotels and lodges outside the park boundaries, take what you get and accept it.The Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel provides average lodge rooms with tiny bathrooms and zero frills. (You'll never find a TV in a lodge room, because you're supposed to be outside enjoying the park. However, this lodge did have a very good restaurant. I had rack of lamb and it was cooked perfectly with very generous cuts of meat. Plus, the food was plated beautifully. Big surprise and it made everyone very happy.If you're coming into Yellowstone from Bozman, this is the place to make your first stop. If.....you can book a night.

We've passed through Mammoth before on our way to Yellowstone, but this was our first time staying here. We stayed in one of the hot tub cabins, and it was really charming. It was nice to sit in the colorful lights of the hot tub at night with snow lightly falling. The room had amenities like robes, and even had traditional keys, which is so rare for American hotels these days.

Came end of season.. for 2 nights 600+, but split up between friends. Even though room had no TV, they do have WiFi so I just used my streaming apps on my tablet. Really doesn't matter, after being in Yellowstone all day, I only was able to watch one show ?... I give 4 not 5, because there was a wedding there, was not able to benefit from the bar onsite. Also I am not sure if the hotel provides meals because of the wedding, so we ended up going to a Grill next door to the hotel which was AWLFUL. DO NOT GO THE GRILL NEXT DOOR TO HOTEL PLEASE AVOID.. TAKE 14MIN AND GO TO GARDINER MONTANA WHICH IS DOWN A WINDING ROAD. PLEASE I BEG OF YOU DO NOT GO TO GRILL NEXT TO MAMMOTH YOU WILL BE PAYING RESTAURANT PRICES FOR EGGO WAFFLE, FROZEN DRY BURGERS, AND LIMPY FRIES

We had a good experience here. By North entrance of Yellowstone, located walking distance from Mammoth Hit Springs.The associated restaurant is limited during the off season and gets booked up, long wait...but nice staff.Beautiful post office nearby, a few places to grab breakfast on the go, gas up and visitor center across the street. 'Cabins ' are nice, shower and warm beds go a long way after hiking all day!One of the best parts of staying here: hearing and seeing the local Elk who wander close to the hotel and sometimes on the premises.

I stayed at one of the cabins here for one night. The cabin was pretty nice although they could have had a better setup for putting dirty shoes inside the door to better avoid getting the carpet dirty. Otherwise the setup for the room worked well. There is no mini-fridge or WiFi in the cabins. The only location for WiFi is in the lobby of the actual motel. I can appreciate trying to promote folks to unplug but it can be pretty inconvenient for people who just want to check in on the family at home.
