We went there with our Indian guide. we were on the top terrace and the view is beautiful. We ate a fish meal with garlic sauce, shrimp and calamars. I usually don't like calamars, but I loved it. It's the best meal I've eaten during my trip. We met the cook at the end. I can't talk about the price, because everything was included in my trip.
This restaurant is bang on the sea shore and serves wonderful food. Lovely place to spend the evening, enjoying the sea view and breeze on the roof top restaurant. Food is very tasty - all dishes (I've tasted about 10 of ther dishes). They also serve booze. Their fresh catch (which you can choose. Price depends on the fish) fry (tawa fry) is just out of the world. I still haven't figured out how they get the masala into the whole fish in such a short time. Try the tawa squid too. Just fantastic.I've been here twice with friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the owner and staff along with our meals. this joint is going to give the more famous restaurants a run for their money. To the management: keep up he great food and don't go down on your quality and pls keep updating your menu. All the best.
Lunched at Bambino while in Mahabalipuram. Rooftop restaurant with a view of the Shore Temple. Went with the suggestions of the Maître D and ordered the fried calamari with lemon butter garlic sauce and whole "black snapper" in the Bambino special masala! The experience was definitely enhanced by the process of selecting the fish from the array kept to choose from! The food was amazing and our family of 4 satiated with our order...While the prices were a little high, the seafood was very fresh and the quantities large. All in all an extremely satisfying experience well worth a repeat!
Stumbled upon this restaurant on the beach in Mamallapuram...Not sure whether to say I enjoyed the food or the staff better. For a start the food was amazing ... so much I went there for lunch and again for dinner even though I stayed a little distance away..The restaurant is only a short distance of the temples of Mamallapuram. Well worth a visit..and has beautiful views of the beach and shore temple. The manager and host Sugumaran and his team Raj and john were so great and I enjoyed their company so much..The ice cold British bitter beer went down a treat.Lund was fresh caught calamari with a garlic butter sauce and dinner was white snapper done with a South Indian masala spice..Out of this world!!!!!!!The saddest part of this story is that I'm back in chennai now and won't be able to revisit Bambino until next visit.I own a tourism business outbackindiatours.com and would have no hesitation recommending anybody to bambino beach restaurant... guys keep doing what your doing .. you and your food are fantastic.Rob leach Outbackindiatours.com Incrediblerainbow.comAustralia
